New Beginnings Grant Program

The New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation is continuing its two-decade long tradition of helping those in our community with our major grant program, now known as the New Beginnings Program. New Beginnings provides assistance to those going through life changing events including foreclosures and evictions, funerals, rent, security deposits, medical bills, payments for utilities, storage and automotive repairs.

Individuals interested in applying for a grant are strongly encouraged to consult with an attorney through one of the many legal assistance organizations available throughout the state. The VA also operates a program that has recently been submitting applications, and applicants are advised to seek guidance from these not-for-profit or charitable organizations to help navigate the process.

To maintain the integrity of the review process, all applications must be submitted through an attorney. This requirement ensures that applicants receive proper legal guidance and helps prevent fraudulent or non-meritorious submissions. Our goal is to protect the diligence and credibility of our grant reviewers by ensuring that funding is awarded only to those who genuinely qualify.
